Event Overview
This course presents an in-depth explanation of the CDC’s and OSHA’s guidelines for dental offices. We will review the CDC guidelines for infection control in the dental healthcare setting, review OSHA’s blood-borne pathogen standard guidelines, discuss safety data sheets (“SDS”) and Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (“GHS”) hazard statements, and general office safety standards. We will also talk about strategies to improve infection control in the office in a practical manner.

- Understand why these guidelines are important for the health and safety of the dental staff and the general public.
- Understand potential areas of risk in a dental office.
- Have the knowledge to implement policies and procedures to mitigate the risk in the dental office.
Speaker Bio
Lisa Kane received her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and her BS from Brandeis University. She practiced general dentistry in the Greater Boston Area for over 20 years. She currently is the owner of Dental Office Compliance of New England, LLC (“DOC4NE”), which assists dental practices in complying with the myriad of regulations required by the state Board, OSHA, and the CDC.
